For individual hosts

Earnings determined by the insurance you bring: 40% (BASIC, no insurance), 75% (STANDARD, P2P), or 90% (PREMIUM, commercial).

Commission Tier Program3+ cars

For fleet operators

Earnings scale with fleet size. Any valid insurance accepted (P2P or commercial — we verify validity, not category):

Standard 75% — 1-9 vehicles
Gold 80% — 10-49 vehicles
Platinum 85% — 50-99 vehicles
Diamond 90% — 100+ vehicles

You can switch programs later, but you can’t be in both at the same time. Every trip carries mandatory per-trip guest insurance regardless of which program you’re in.

Insurance FAQs

Do I need my own insurance to host on ItWhip?

No! Tier 1 (Platform Coverage) provides full insurance with no personal policy required. However, bringing your own P2P or commercial insurance earns you a higher percentage (75% or 90%).

What happens if a guest damages my car?

All trips include collision and comprehensive coverage. The guest's security deposit covers minor damage, and our insurance covers larger claims. Mileage Forensics™ data helps verify what happened during the trip.

How does Mileage Forensics™ help with insurance?

Mileage Forensics™ provides GPS-verified trip data that separates rental miles from personal miles. This verified data helps insurance carriers assess risk accurately and process claims faster.

Can I switch between insurance tiers?

Yes! You can change your tier at any time. If you get a P2P or commercial policy, update your tier to earn a higher percentage. Changes take effect on your next new booking.

What's the deductible if there's a claim?

Deductibles vary by tier. Tier 1: $2,500 collision / $1,000 comprehensive. Tier 2: $1,000 collision / $500 comprehensive. Tier 3: per your commercial policy terms.

Does the guest pay for insurance?

Guest protection is included in the rental price — there's no separate insurance charge for guests. They're automatically covered by $1M combined liability plus collision and comprehensive coverage.
